Job summary

Great Western Trailer (GWT) is actively seeking full-time Tank Technicians to service semi-trailers at our Albuquerque, NM facility. You will inspect, repair, and maintain tanks in accordance with DOT and ASTM regulations, performing welding, fabrication, and preventative maintenance.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience with tank equipment, ability to lift 50 lbs, and strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience working on or around tank vehicles or pressure vessels.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Own a personal set of hand tools.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of tank and semi-trailer equipment.
• Ability to operate hand, power, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment safely.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow service guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair tanks and trailers to meet FHWA, FMCSA, DOT HM183, and hazmat standards.
• Handle pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, product pumps and piping.
• Perform overfill system checks and air brake system maintenance.
• Install add-ons and perform welding, fabrication, and carpentry as needed.
• Complete mechanic’s service reports and documentation.
