Job summary

Great Western Trailer is seeking skilled Trailer Technicians for our Albuquerque, NM facility. You will inspect and repair semi-trailers, including brakes, wiring, bodywork, lift gates, and more. You will also install add-on components like toolboxes, winches, and ramp kits.

Fabrication and welding may be required; you will complete service reports and ensure work meets safety and quality standards. A strong mechanical background and willingness to work overtime are essential.

Qualifications

• Own a personal set of hand tools (except in California).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with semi-trailer equipment.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• 3+ years of semi-trailer repair experience.
• Driver's license is a plus.
• ASE or welding certification is a plus.
• FHWA brake inspector certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license (a plus, but not required).
• 3+ years of experience in semi-trailer repairs.
• Certified brake and FHWA inspector or ability to obtain certification.
• Industry certifications such as ASE or welding certification.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a valuable asset.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Work may be performed in a shop, yard, or mobile service environment.
• Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures.
• Moderate to loud noise levels.
