Job summary

The Army National Guard seeks an M1 Abrams Tank System Maintainer to supervise and perform maintenance on these tanks. You will diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions across subsystems, and perform organizational maintenance on suspension, steering, hydraulics, APU, fire suppression, and gun turret systems.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 24 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with the opportunity to earn while you learn and pursue tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Learned electronic and mechanical principles.
• Learn to use electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment.
• Learn to read schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions on M1 Abrams Tanks.
• Perform organizational maintenance on suspension, steering, hydraulics, APU, and fire systems.
• Maintain vehicular mounted armament, gun turret drive, and fire control systems.
