Eaton's ES AMER ESS division in Nacogdoches, TX is hiring a Tank Shop (Machine Operator) for 2nd shift. Core hours are 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; overtime may be required. The role pays $21.00 per hour plus a $1.35 shift differential.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating welding machines, moving transformer tanks, and performing maintenance. Benefits start day one and safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Within 50 miles of Nacogdoches, TX to be eligible.

  • Prior machine operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust and operate welding machines, presses, brakes, flanges and expanders.
  • Receive training on safe chemical handling and waste disposal, follow safety/quality instructions.
  • Move transformer tanks and parts on overhead conveyors, using hoists and material handling equipment.
  • Operate paint booth and perform touch-up painting, monitor temperatures and perform titration checks.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and follow work instructions (PQP, VOP, IDP).
  • Adhere to PPE requirements and maintain 5S+ housekeeping; support continuous improvement.

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Tank Shop (Machine Operator) - 2nd Shift at our Nacogdoches, TX facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.00 per hour, plus a $1.35 shift differential.

What You’ll Do

The Machine Operator sets up, adjusts and operates various welding machines, presses shears, brakes, flanges and expanders.

In This Function, You Will
  • Perform tasks across various work centers, including bottom welding (with perforated LVB holes), projection welding (with LVB holes), seam welding (with flanging), layout (with rod stacking), horn presses, hanging, cover punching, paint booth operations, and tank unhang procedures.
  • Receive training in safe chemical handling, proper disposal of waste materials, and adherence to safety, quality, and operating instructions.
  • Position, hang, and remove transformer tanks and associated parts from a powered overhead conveyor line.
  • Manually handle medium-heavy weight materials, and operate hoists and other material handling equipment (including powered industrial trucks).
  • Monitor and maintain the automatic paint booth, manually apply paint to hard-to-reach parts, add paint as needed, conduct titration tests for chemical balance, and verify the paint cure and dry-off oven temperatures.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, follow specified lists (oven pick list, PQP, VOP, IDP, verbal instructions), operate welding equipment (MIG wire feed), and use both manual and powered hand tools, as well as simple measuring devices.
  • Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
  • Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Ability to operate industrial equipment, welding equipment, and hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.
