Job summary

Colville, Inc. is seeking a safety-focused Tank Farm Operator to join our North Slope operations in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. You will monitor fuel movements, perform quality checks, maintain records, and inspect equipment to keep operations safe and efficient.

The role requires a valid Alaska CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work in Arctic conditions. Lodging is provided at Brooks Camp during hitch rotations, with a strong emphasis on safety

Colville, Inc. is seeking a safety-focused and dependableTank Farm Operator to join our North Slope operations in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.

In this role, you’ll help support the safe and efficient operation of Colville’s fuel storage and transfer facilities. From monitoring fuel movements and conducting quality-control checks to maintaining accurate records and inspecting equipment, you’ll play an important role in keeping our operations running safely and reliably.

As a Tank Farm Operator, you’ll work alongside an experienced North Slope crew responsible for the safe handling, storage, and transfer of fuel products. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication, and a consistent commitment to established safety and environmental procedures.

Employees work a rotational schedule in Prudhoe Bay and are provided lodging atBrooks Camp during their hitch.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Fuel Operations: Safely operate, monitor, inspect, and control tank farm and fuel transfer operations in accordance with established procedures.
  • Product Transfers: Assist with the safe transfer, loading, unloading, and movement of fuel products and associated hoses and equipment.
  • Quality Control: Conduct required product sampling, testing, and inspections to help ensure fuel meets established quality and safety standards.
  • Equipment Inspections: Perform routine inspections of tanks, pumps, valves, hoses, piping, and other tank farm equipment.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist with routine equipment upkeep and promptly identify and report maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Safety & Spill Prevention: Follow established fuel-handling, environmental, spill-prevention, and emergency-response procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate operational logs, fuel transaction records, quality-control documentation, inspection records, and other required paperwork.
  • Team Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, dispatch, and other team members to coordinate safe and efficient operations.
  • Operational Support: Assist with additional operational duties as needed to support the team and facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • Valid AlaskaCommercial Driver’s License (CDL) withHazMat and Tanker endorsements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous fuel operations, tank farm, petroleum, or related industrial experience preferred
  • Knowledge of safe fuel-handling practices, spill prevention, and spill-response procedures
  • Ability to follow established safety, environmental, and operating procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work safely in Arctic weather and changing environmental conditions
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including handling fuel hoses and equipment and working outdoors for extended periods
