Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with cryogenic equipment, industrial gases, vacuum systems, or similar equipment.
  • Experience with LOX, LIN, LNG, LH2, CO2, hydrogen, or comparable industrial/cryogenic gas systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience repairing cryogenic tanks, trailers, ISO tank containers, portable tanks, cylinders, or bulk gas systems is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of vacuum systems, pumps, leak detection, and helium mass spectrometer testing.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting related to pumps, valves, piping, fittings, and pressure containment equipment.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting capabilities related to industrial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and test cryogenic and industrial gas equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of cryogenic tanks/containers, pressure vessels, piping, valves, pumps, fittings, and related components.
  • Diagnose vacuum loss and carry out troubleshooting and repairs on vacuum systems.
  • Conduct leak detection and vacuum testing, with helium mass spectrometer testing experience desirable.
  • Repair and rebuild cryogenic and vacuum pumps and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components, wiring, switches, controls, and instrumentation linked to industrial gas systems.
  • Assemble, fit, install, modify, and recondition mechanical components using precision tools.
  • Execute pressure and hydrostatic testing as required.
  • Work safely with lifting, rigging, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Perform fabrication tasks including tubing, piping, welding, brazing, or orbital welding when qualified.
  • Follow safety protocols, quality standards, inspections, and documentation procedures.
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, testing, parts, and work completion in the operating system.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers regarding repairs and technical findings.

This pivotal role involves hands-on inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing, and reconditioning of cryogenic and industrial gas equipment. The successful candidate will handle cryogenic tanks, pressure vessels, valves, piping, vacuum systems, pumps, and associated mechanical and electrical components. Candidates with direct experience in cryogenic or industrial gas systems are preferred, although those with highly transferable experience in industries such as industrial gases, hydrogen, LNG, aerospace, military aviation, vacuum systems, or pressure vessels are also encouraged to apply. Requirements
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with cryogenic equipment, industrial gases, vacuum systems, pressure vessels, or similar equipment.
  • Experience with LOX, LIN, LAR, LNG, LH2, CO2, hydrogen, or comparable industrial/cryogenic gas systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience repairing cryogenic tanks, trailers, ISO tank containers, portable tanks, cylinders, or bulk gas systems is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of vacuum systems, pumps, leak detection, and helium mass spectrometer testing.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills related to pumps, valves, piping, fittings, and pressure containment equipment.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting capabilities related to industrial systems.
  • Experience with crane, rigging, forklift, or overhead lifting operations is preferred.
  • Skills in welding, brazing, orbital welding, MIG/MAG/TIG processes, or pressure piping are advantageous.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, technical instructions, and repair procedures.
  • Military cryogenic equipment experience, especially aviation oxygen/nitrogen systems, is a significant plus.
  • Formal technical schooling, military technical training, college education, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
  • Strong safety awareness, meticulous attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work collaboratively within a technical team.
