Job description

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is a specialized tank construction and repair company. We focus on complex, fast-paced tank repair projects nationwide. Each tank presents unique technical challenges, and our experienced engineering team is skilled in API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, AWWA D103, API 12D, and other standards.

We build and repair welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. Our services also include inspection, installation, and repair of tank systems such as aluminum geodesic dome covers, aluminum internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo support structures, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Perform arc and torch cutting and gouging.
  • Operate generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other tools.
  • Weld using various techniques including SMAW, FCAW, and submerged arc.
  • Use lifting equipment such as come-alongs, jacks, hoists, air bags, and winches.
  • Utilize specialized equipment like tank shell buggies, scaffolding, and ladders.
  • Conduct non-destructive testing like vacuum box, oil tests, and dye penetrant tests.
  • Use safety gear including gas monitors, respirators, and rescue kits.
  • Operate forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and understand crane operations.
  • Read detailed fabrication and erection drawings.
  • Plan fitting, welding, and repair sequences.
  • Complete safety analyses, audits, and training.
  • Follow instructions and collaborate professionally with team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to check driving records.

  • Welding skills are a plus.
