We are currently hiring top field welders to join our team and travel throughout our country as "tankees".

Compensation

Hourly wage based on experience and skill, plus per diem for meals and lodging. Work-related travel is paid at the hourly rate with no overtime. The position is non-union, non-exempt, with occasional prevailing wage. No PTO or paid holidays. Pay periods are weekly, with direct deposit available.

Benefits

Medical, dental, and vision coverage begins after 30 days of employment. Phillips Tank covers approximately 60% of medical premiums; employees pay 40%. Employees pay 100% for dental and vision premiums.

Shift

Work schedules vary by project, typically daylight hours (10 hours/day, 5 days/week).

Status

Full-time employment, subject to project availability and schedules.

Day-to-Day Duties
  • Perform arc and torch cutting and gouging.
  • Operate generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power tools.
  • Weld using 7018, 7024, 6010 sticks (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc machines.
  • Use come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment.
  • Utilize tank shell buggies, scaffolding, ladders, and other specialty equipment.
  • Conduct vacuum box, oil, dye penetrant, and other non-destructive tests.
  • Operate safety equipment such as gas monitors, respirators, and rescue kits.
  • Operate forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting machinery.
  • Read and interpret detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
  • Plan fitting, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
  • Complete safety analyses, audits, and site-specific training.
  • Work professionally with team members and follow instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
