Job description

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is a specialized tank construction company focusing on complex and fast-paced tank repair projects nationwide.

Our team addresses unique and technical challenges posed by diverse tanks, supported by experienced engineers familiar with API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, AWWA D103, API 12D, and other standards.

We build and repair welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. Our services also include inspection, installation, and repair of tank systems such as aluminum geodesic dome covers, internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo supports, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Perform arc and torch cutting, gouging.
  • Operate generators, compressors, grinders, and other tools.
  • Weld using various methods, including SMAW, FCAW, and submerged arc welding.
  • Use lifting equipment like come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, and hoists.
  • Work with tank shell buggies, scaffolding, ladders, and specialized equipment.
  • Conduct non-destructive testing such as vacuum box, dye penetrant, and oil tests.
  • Utilize safety gear including gas monitors, respirators, and rescue kits.
  • Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment.
  • Read detailed fabrication and erection drawings.
  • Plan fitting, welding, and repair sequences.
  • Complete safety analyses, audits, and training.
  • Collaborate professionally with team members. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S., with valid driver’s license and background checks.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., and willingness to undergo drug testing.
  • Welding skills are a plus.
