Job summary

Kirby Corporation seeks a Tank Barge PIC to prepare barges and oversee loading and discharging of oil, refined and petrochemical cargoes. You will communicate with dock personnel to ensure safe transfer and understanding of product handling on a rotating 6 days on/3 off schedule.

Responsibilities include walking long distances, inspecting barges, and performing engine and safety tasks while using protective gear and radios for coordination.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk long distances and operate in hazardous environments.
• Must hold a Tank Barge PIC endorsement and merchant mariner documentation.
• Strong communication and English literacy for dock operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare barges and complete loading and discharging of oil and related cargoes.
• Communicate with dock personnel to ensure safe transfer and clarity of procedures.
• Perform duties while wearing protective equipment and following safety protocols.
• Maintain documentation and assist in training new personnel.
