Are you goal-driven? Then the TANF Youth Career Advisor position is for you! We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team.
This role is responsible for actively recruiting youth to NWPA Job Connect. It involves managing the youth eligibility and enrollment process, program orientation, and providing career and educational counseling services during the school year and summer season.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with high schools in Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Venango, and Warren counties.
- Implement recruitment strategies, including social media, in-person outreach, and messaging to youth, school staff, and parents/caregivers.
- Conduct eligibility assessments, intake, and orientation services for interested youth.
- Assess youth’s family and personal development needs, workplace skills, and educational and career goals to understand their social and internal motivators.
- Develop and update customized service plans aligned with employment, training, and high school educational goals.
- Provide barrier mitigation through professional one-on-one work and rapport development.
- Collaborate with support systems, facilitate referrals, and follow up with community or social service agencies as needed.
- Offer support services when accessible through other providers.
- Counsel, motivate, and guide participants to develop and pursue a customized career pathway and work experience opportunities.
- Develop and adapt innovative service delivery methods to meet participants where they are, facilitating both virtual and in-person services.
- Maintain organized tracking of clients by documenting interactions, contacts, activities, case notes, and files to ensure regular contact.
- Oversee participant caseloads, ensuring compliance with contract regulations, and maintaining accurate program records.
- Track and aim to meet or exceed weekly and quarterly recruitment, enrollment, and employability skill growth goals.
- Collect survey data post-work experience to inform program improvements and highlight success stories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social services, counseling, education, or a related field preferred, with youth counseling experience.
- Case management experience is required.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage with professionals positively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry applications.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and requirements.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
