Job Summary

Welocalize is offering an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy a mix of linguistic and technical work. We are seeking a Linguistic QA Tester / Proofreader with native-level fluency in Tamil and strong technical skills.

In this role, you will test a variety of applications and tools, execute test cases, identify localization issues, and report them through our internal bug-tracking system. You will also verify fixes once implemented.

This is a fully remote, part-time position (20 hours per week) with an open-ended contract.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS
2. Execute test cases and scripts to ensure localization accuracy
3. Identify, report, and track localization bugs using an internal bug-tracking system
4. Verify fixes and ensure linguistic and functional quality
5. Prioritize linguistic issues, distinguishing between critical and non-critical errors
6. Clearly document and communicate issue reproduction steps
7. Collaborate with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

1. Native-level fluency in Tamil (grammar, vocabulary, composition, and punctuation)
2. Fluency in English (written and spoken)
3. Experience in translation, localization, or linguistic QA
4. Strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
5. Familiarity with bug-tracking systems and test case execution
6. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
8. Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic setting
9. Must be legally based in the country listed in the job posting

Recruitment Process:

1. Signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). This basically asks you to keep files and other information private.
2. Take a language test online.
3. If the language test is a pass, you will be interviewed by a Recruiter.
4. If the interview is passed, you will be invited to enroll in a Learning Program specific to this project (1-hour duration, unpaid).
5. Once you complete the Learning Program, you will be invited to a Tryout test (Proctored)
6. If you pass, you will be invited to a final interview.
7. If you pass the interview, you will receive an offer.
8. In the first weeks you will receive training.
