Job summary

ConnectOne Bank is seeking a Talent Resources Manager to lead employee relations and the overall employee experience. You will champion a People First culture, advise managers, and ensure policies comply with employment laws while supporting talent management initiatives.

The role involves investigations, onboarding/offboarding coordination, and collaboration with IT and HR operations. A bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 3–5 years HR experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, organizational development, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR.
  • Knowledge of EEOC, ADEA, ADA, FMLA and FLSA laws.
  • Experience with Google Platform, MS Office, and HRIS systems.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Excellent conflict management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing priorities.
  • Clear communication and coaching skills for all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

About this role

The Talent Resources Manager is responsible for the delivery of HR policies, programs, and procedures with a focus on employee relations and additional responsibilities related to the overall employee experience and talent journey.

In this role you will
  • Support the Bank’s “People First” focus and rules of engagement—maintaining a professional demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing clients excellent service, always striving to make CNOB “A Better Place to Be.”
  • Lead the employee relations programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Advise and coach managers on the resolution of complex employee relations issues, including compliance and application of employment laws, regulations, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct investigations into complex employee relations issues.
  • Consult and guide internal clients on HR issues (for example, conflict resolution, performance management, terminations, as well as other HR policies and procedures).
  • Support the Talent Resources Director in implementing talent management programs (for example, performance management, succession planning, and special projects).
  • Oversee and serve as the backup for facilitating onboarding and offboarding, including managing coordination with appropriate teams (for example, IT, HR operations) and assisting with exit interviews.
  • Recommend innovative approaches to policies and procedures to support continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations.
Must haves
  • Strong “People First” interest and ability.
  • Knowledge of employment and labor laws (for example, EEOC, ADEA, ADA, FMLA and FLSA laws.)
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal and State regulations.
  • Demonstrated skills with Google Platform & MS Office Suite & HRIS systems.
  • Demonstrated competency with relationship building and collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks.
  • Presence, confidence, and communications skills that assure effective participation at all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated coaching skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, Organizational development, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR
