We call everyone who writes code here a Coder, at levels from Software Engineer I through Staff/Principal. Our engineers work across three products: Momentum, our retrofit platform (PHP 8.4/Laravel, Livewire, Alpine.js, Tailwind, PostgreSQL, with Pest, Playwright and PHPStan keeping it honest); BKB, our building knowledge base (PostgreSQL schema design and query tuning, Python ETL/ELT pipelines, dbt, plus deduplication and entity-resolution work); and our Calculation Service for energy modeling (Python 3.11+, FastAPI, NumPy/Pandas/SciPy, Pydantic, property-based testing). You don't need all three — tell us which one makes you curious. At every level we look for engineers who write clean, maintainable code, test as a habit rather than a chore, and work AI-assisted with real judgment about when to trust and when to verify — whether the AI is solving the right problem, not just producing code that compiles. More senior engineers own complete project delivery, design systems others build on, partner with product on spec-driven development, and mentor. Building science, energy efficiency, or utility incentive experience is welcome but never required.

Is this the right team for you?
You'll probably feel energized on our team if you like:
  • Bringing your whole self to work
  • Working all-remote with autonomy and flexibility
  • Making an impact and creating visible, positive changes
  • Learning and being creative i.e. exploring, experimenting, and discovering
  • Being great and taking pride in the excellence of your work
  • Sharing your expertise and insights
  • Encouraging your teammates' growth and progress
  • Excitement and a little bit of risk and adventure
On the flip side, you might not be happy on our team if you don't believe:
  • Climate action and climate justice are important challenges to address
  • Diverse perspectives help drive better decisions
  • Cooperation and collaboration can help solve big problems faster
  • Self actualization is a worthy goal and healthy work/life balance is important
  • It's okay to enjoy yourself while solving serious, important problems
Let's talk!

We're trying to build a team that reflects the communities we serve. We especially encourage applications from people underrepresented in tech.

About the company

Stable, high-quality housing is prerequisite for people to achieve their human potential. We called our company Cadence OneFive because hitting the pace of climate action to keep global warming to 1.5°s above pre-industrial temperatures is critical to ensuring that everyone everywhere enjoys high-quality housing that they can afford and that is resilient to the effects of climate change. So, we're building B2B software to speed up decarbonization and climate adaptation of existing multifamily buildings. Cadence OneFive is a public benefit corporation pursuing both a climate justice mission and profits.
