Position Summary:

This Hourly Hiring Pool represents current or potential hourly non-benefited job openings in this employment category. There is no guarantee of employment from this hiring pool. Positions are not benefited. Hours and schedules vary.

Typical Lab Schedule: 8am-11am & 12pm-3pm or 9am-1pm

Typical Term: approximately 20 hour/week

Compensation category: Technical Assistant Level III - Casual Employment. Wage will be determined based on qualifications (education and credentialing) and experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants must possess one of the following Medical Assisting credentials; CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA)
  • Three years of Medical Assisting experience or more in ambulatory care

Position Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to perform all duties of a Certified Medical Assisting including: taking standard vital signs and measurements, performing venipuncture, capillary puncture, POCT, vision screenings, and injections.
  • Must be knowledgeable with sterile processing, wound care, medication administration, EKG and spirometry testing.
  • Support students by assessing performance of clinical skills and offering guidance, suggestions, encouragement and constructive feedback.
  • Follow all MA Program and college rules and policies including FERPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain safety and integrity of the laboratory environment and report any injuries or unsafe behaviors.
  • Evaluate and grade student work, laboratory assignments and activities.
  • Support faculty by restocking laboratory supplies, performing inventory and providing feedback regarding student performance.
  • Promote professionalism by modeling such behaviors inside and outside the classroom or clinical lab setting.
  • Create a supportive, constructive, and engaging student learning environment.
  • Identify at risk students; provide extra support, guidance, and attention.
  • Strong oral and written communication and the ability to work well with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Experience in Primary Care or Internal Medicine
