Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Chicago is seeking a Talent Operations Consultant to join the Talent Strategy & Experience team. This hybrid role supports compliance, immigration, and talent operations across the health system.

You will coordinate audits, track licenses, manage I-9s, and serve as primary HR contact for surveys. Based in the greater Chicagoland area, you’ll collaborate with HR and legal partners to ensure regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, healthcare admin or related field.
• 6–8 years supporting audits, regulatory compliance, immigration administration; 8+ preferred.
• 6–8 years in HR operations, compliance, employee relations, workforce administration; 8+ preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and healthcare regulations.
• Experience with immigration processes and working with counsel.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems (Oracle, Equifax).
• Ability to manage complex operational work with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented with high standards of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal and external surveys and audits coordination.
• Coordinate surveyor requests with HR and department stakeholders.
• Track HR-related findings and corrective actions.
• Maintain system for licenses and certifications for staff.
• Audit employee files to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Notify managers of expirations and escalate risks.
• Maintain I-9 records and ensure reverification.
• Respond to E-Verify and I-9 inquiries.
• Manage immigration processes (H-1B, J-1, TN, green card).
• Collaborate with immigration attorney on sponsorships and filings.
• Ensure timely record-keeping of immigration documentation and deadlines.
• Support onboarding, workflow approvals, and HR system administration.
