Job Purpose

The Talent Management Intern will gain hands‑on, cross‑functional experience across three core areas of the Talent function: Compensation, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management. This role is ideal for a motivated student or early‑career professional looking to build a broad foundation in HR/Talent practices while contributing to real projects that support Herc Rentals' workforce strategy.

What you will do...

This internship is structured around three focus areas, giving the intern broad exposure to the Talent function.

Compensation

• Support the development of compensation reports and dashboards to help HR leadership track pay trends and workforce metrics
• Assist in organizing and validating market pay data used in benchmarking and analytics studies
• Help maintain accurate job code and pay grade documentation to support data integrity in reporting systems
• Analyze compensation data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform HR decision‑making

Talent Acquisition

• Leverage AI‑powered sourcing tools to identify and build talent pipelines for high‑priority or hard‑to‑fill roles.
• Support recruiters with job posting creation, requisition tracking, and applicant tracking system (ATS) updates.
• Help source and screen resumes for open roles, providing shortlists based on defined criteria.
• Assist in scheduling candidate interviews and coordinating communication between candidates and hiring managers.

Talent Management

• Assist in the design and organization of training and development materials for employee programs.
• Support data collection and analysis for employee engagement surveys or organizational health assessments.
• Help coordinate logistics for leadership development, onboarding, or team‑building initiatives.
• Contribute to documentation of workforce planning or organizational structure projects, including basic org chart updates.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Prior HR‑related coursework, internship, or project experience is a plus.

Pay Range:$20.00 per hour
