Job description

The Talent Engagement Specialist is a functional operational role responsible for coordinating the daily execution of Pacific Health Group's full-cycle recruiting workflow. Reporting to the HR Leader, this role ensures a high-touch candidate experience from initial application to the New Hire Orientation (NHO) hand-off. The Specialist exercises independent judgment in candidate evaluation and provides essential operational support to ensure the HR department meets its high-volume staffing goals.

Location & Work Environment

This role is hybrid. While this role is primarily remote, your success happens out in the community. You'll need to be based in California and ready to travel locally for what matters: university partnerships, hiring fairs, and active street outreach. We offer the flexibility of working from home, provided you're ready to show up and represent us in person whenever there's a chance to find great talent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment Coordination & Candidate Vetting
  • Workflow Ownership: Manages the day-to‑day recruitment pipeline. Reviews resumes against established criteria and exercises discretion to determine which candidates advance to manager interviews
  • Pre‑Screening: Conducts initial interviews and assessments (utilizing tools like Testlify) to evaluate fit. Makes recommendations to hiring managers regarding the viability of candidates
  • Logistics Management: Independently schedules and coordinates all interview phases across multiple departments, ensuring a seamless experience for both the manager and the candidate
  • Candidate Experience & Data Integrity
  • "Ghosting" Prevention: Acts as the primary point of contact for candidates post‑offer, maintaining high‑touch communication to ensure they remain engaged through the pre‑boarding process
  • ATS Administration: Maintains real‑time accuracy within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring all candidate notes, status updates, and records are audit‑ready
  • Reporting: Tracks and reports on key metrics (time‑to‑hire, source quality) to the HR Manager to help optimize the hiring process
  • HR Operations & Compliance
  • Onboarding Facilitation: Coordinates the collection and verification of all required new hire documentation, ensuring files 100% compliant with Federal and California labor laws before the NHO hand‑off
  • Benefits Familiarization: Maintains a functional understanding of company benefits to answer basic candidate questions and effectively promote PHG's value proposition
  • Administrative Support: Provides willing support for departmental projects, including assisting with recruiter training for supervisors and supporting general HR administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (is a plus)
  • Minimum of 3 years of specialized full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in healthcare or business services for a mission‑driven environment
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience attending job fairs, attending community hiring events, and building relationships with local workforce development organizations (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-volume recruitment in an ATS/HRIS (Workable, Paycom, or similar)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to professional compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to manage complex scheduling and candidate engagement
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment and willingness to take on new HR duties as needed
  • Must be able to participate in street outreach initiatives, company and community events, and career fairs
Benefits
  • Compensation: The compensation for this role ranges from $72,000- $76,000 per year. Final compensation is dependent upon the candidate's level of experience, geographic area, and specific qualifications.
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid within California (San Diego county or SoCal preferred)
  • Time Off & Leave
    • 160 Hours of Paid Time Off (PTO)
    • 11 Paid Holidays per year (including your birthday and one floating holiday after 1 year of employment)
    • 4 Paid Volunteer Hours per Month to support causes you care about
    • Bereavement Leave (including Fur Baby Bereavement)
  • Health & Wellness
    • 90% Employer‑paid Employee‑Only Medical Benefits
    • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
    • Short‑Term & Long‑Term Disability | AD&D
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Financial & Professional
    • 401(k) with Company Match
    • Monthly Stipend
