Peak Toolworks is seeking a Talent Champion to own the employee experience—from recruiting through onboarding and engagement—across the U.S. and Canada.

You’ll partner with managers to attract top talent, coordinate background checks, and deliver impactful onboarding while upholding HR best practices. You’ll also drive talent programs, manage employee relations, and help shape a positive culture in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years in HR, Talent Operations, or Recruiting.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for U.S. positions in partnership with hiring managers.
  • Coordinate background checks and employment verifications.
  • Deliver engaging onboarding and orientation experiences for new hires.
  • Support Talent programs including benefits, leave administration, recognition, and engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state and local employment laws and Talent best practices.
  • Review payroll for accuracy and coordinate with payroll teams as backup.
  • Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews and feedback analysis.
  • Track Talent metrics to support business decisions.
  • Partner with Operations on safety reviews and incident follow-ups.
  • Coordinate community outreach and enhance employer brand locally.

Job description

We’re looking for a people-focused, detail-oriented Talent professional to join our team as a Talent Champion. In this role, you’ll be at the center of the employee experience—driving recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and employee relations while helping shape a positive and high-performing workplace culture.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for all U.S. positions, partnering with hiring managers to identify and attract top talent.
  • Coordinate background checks and employment verifications.
  • Deliver engaging onboarding and orientation experiences for new hires.
  • Support Talent programs including benefits, leave administration, recognition, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with multi- federal, state, and local employment laws and Talent best practices.
  • Review weekly payroll for accuracy and partner with U.S. and Canada payroll teams (serve as backup processor).
  • Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and feedback analysis.
  • Track and report on Talent metrics to support business decisions.
  • Partner with Operations on safety reviews and incident follow-ups.
  • Community partnerships by coordinating outreach initiatives, supporting local events, and enhancing the organization’s employer brand within the community.
  • Support managers with employee relations and performance management.
  • Respond to employee questions and help maintain a positive, supportive workplace environment.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Operations, or Recruiting.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll processes (multi-state and/or Canada experience is a plus) (Dayforce experience is a plus).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting employee relations and performance management initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with HR analytics/reporting tools is a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification preferred (not required).
