Position Summary

This position partners closely with hiring managers to ensure compliant, efficient, and equitable recruitment processes while delivering a positive candidate experience. The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports additional recruitment-related and human resources functions as assigned by Human Resources Leadership.

Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing full cycle recruitment activities to attract, assess, and hire qualified candidates in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and staffing needs. This position partners closely with hiring managers to ensure compliant, efficient, and equitable recruitment processes while delivering a positive candidate experience. The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports additional recruitment-related and human resources functions as assigned by Human Resources Leadership.

Responsibilities
Job Descriptions and Position Information
  • Provides templates and guidance to hiring managers and leadership to revise or develop accurate, clear job descriptions
  • Processes new job descriptions and updates to existing roles; ensures accuracy prior to posting
  • Maintains position seats and position data within the HRIS, ensuring real-time accuracy and regular audits
Recruitment and Selection
  • Manages the full cycle recruitment process from requisition through offer, following established organizational recruiting procedures
  • Reviews applications, conducts preliminary screenings, and forwards qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Conducts pre screening interviews, coordinates interviews, and facilitates reference checks using third party vendors as applicable
  • Works collaboratively with hiring managers to understand position requirements and guide them through the recruitment process
  • Develops and posts compelling, legally compliant job postings in coordination with hiring managers
  • Designs and implements effective recruitment strategies to source, attract and hire qualified candidates
  • Develops and customizes interview questions and processes that incorporate the Agency’s mission and cultural values
  • Maintains required recruitment records, including candidate activity, interview notes, and supporting documentation
  • Analyzes recruitment metrics and provides insights to support continuous improvement of hiring practices
Recruitment Outreach and Employer Branding
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with colleges, community partners, and employment agencies
  • Represents the organization at job fairs, networking events, and recruitment outreach activities within the service area
  • Develops and maintains an online recruiting presence using social media and other recruitment platforms
  • Coordinates with Advancement staff to ensure recruiting materials and organization information are current and available for outreach events
  • Coordinates the use of temporary employees and serves as a liaison with employment and advertising agencies, processing related billings as required
  • Utilizes knowledge of organization benefits, student loan assistance programs, and other incentives to strengthen recruitment outreach
Internships Programs
  • In collaboration with the Credentialing Specialist, coordinates internship and student practicum programs according to organizational policies and procedures
Pre Onboarding
  • Initiates, tracks, monitors, and reviews background checks and other pre employment requirements in collaboration with the HR Assistant
  • Confirms completion of all pre onboarding requirements prior to the employee’s start date and coordinates alternate onboarding dates when necessary
Compliance and Reporting
  • Maintains candidate tracking information for affirmative action and EEO 1 reporting purposes
  • Provides regular recruiting reports as requested
  • Reports employee relations concerns, including complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights issues to HR Leadership in accordance with organization policy
Other Duties
  • Participates in HR team meetings, trainings, and seminars as required
  • Recommends and collaborates on improvements to recruitment processes and procedures
  • Travels to agency and community locations as needed
  • Serves on agency committees as approved or requested by HR Leadership
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending or lifting or performing other work requiring medium physical exertion, talking, hearing, and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.

Non Physical Requirements
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED + 3 years' experience in recruiting and/or human resources OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Non profit organization work experience preferred
  • Experience using an ATS (applicant tracking system) preferred

Licensure, Registration, Certification
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities’ liability insurance provider
Employment Is Conditional Upon
  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Wage Range:

$31.00 - $36.50 per hour, depending on education & experience
