Job description

Job Description

KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Talent Acquisition team and support hiring across multiple offices and disciplines throughout the firm.

This is a full-cycle recruiting role for someone who enjoys both the relationship-building and hands-on sides of talent acquisition. You will partner directly with hiring managers and operational leaders to understand their needs, develop recruiting strategies, identify and engage talent, manage searches, and help teams make informed hiring decisions.

Because KPFF operates through independently managed offices, recruiting does not always look the same from one team to the next. Success in this role requires curiosity, adaptability, strong judgment, and the ability to provide structure and guidance without taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

You will also be part of a collaborative Talent Acquisition team that shares ideas, resources, market insights, and responsibility for continually improving how we recruit across the firm.

What You'll Be Doing
Full-Cycle Recruiting & Sourcing
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for positions across multiple offices, disciplines, and experience levels, from intake and recruiting strategy through offer acceptance.
  • Partner with hiring teams to understand business needs, role requirements, candidate profiles, timelines, and market considerations before launching a search.
  • Develop sourcing and outreach strategies based on the role, location, talent market, and hiring team's needs.
  • Proactively identify and engage passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, SmartRecruiters, professional networks, and other sourcing tools.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs.
  • Manage job postings, applicant flow, candidate communication, interviews, feedback, references, and other recruiting activities within SmartRecruiters.
Consulting & Hiring Team Partnership
  • Serve as a recruiting partner to hiring managers and operational leaders, providing market insight, recruiting recommendations, and practical guidance throughout the hiring process.
  • Adapt recruiting strategies to support independently operating teams while bringing consistency and best practices where they add value.
  • Help hiring teams define candidate profiles, evaluate talent markets, and adjust recruiting approaches when searches require a different strategy.
  • Balance multiple concurrent searches and priorities while maintaining communication with hiring teams and candidates.
  • Partner with administrative and operational staff to coordinate recruiting activities and keep searches moving efficiently.
  • Use recruiting data, candidate feedback, and market information to identify opportunities to improve recruiting strategies and processes.
Candidate Experience & Collaboration
  • Build relationships with prospective candidates through thoughtful, personalized outreach and ongoing engagement.
  • Guide candidates through the recruiting process with clear, timely communication and an understanding of each team's opportunity and culture.
  • Help hiring teams create an organized, engaging, and responsive interview experience.
  • Work closely with other Talent Acquisition team members to share talent, sourcing strategies, market knowledge, and recruiting best practices.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in recruiting tools, processes, candidate engagement, and hiring team support.
Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience , preferably within professional services, consulting, engineering, architecture, construction, technology, or another technical environment.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing and engaging passive candidates, including strong working knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and ATS or CRM databases.
  • Experience partnering directly with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop recruiting strategies.
  • Comfortable managing multiple searches with different priorities, stakeholders, and timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop effective candidate outreach and communicate confidently with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with attention to both the candidate experience and the details required to keep searches moving.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System. Experience with SmartRecruiters is a plus.
  • Comfortable using recruiting data and market information to evaluate sourcing effectiveness and inform recruiting strategies.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in an environment where teams may have different processes, priorities, and decision-making styles.
  • Curious, collaborative, and comfortable asking questions, offering recommendations, and building trusted relationships with hiring teams.
  • Familiarity with AEC roles, terminology, or talent markets is helpful, but direct AEC recruiting experience is not required.
Additional Information
Work Environment & Flexibility

This is a work-from-home position, not a location-independent position. Candidates must be based in the United States and able to work standard business hours aligned with the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.

Team members may work from home within these time zones or, when geographically close to a KPFF office, may have the option to work onsite or in a hybrid arrangement. Occasional travel for team meetings, recruiting activities, and office visits may be required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Primarily a work-from-home role requiring prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and participation in virtual meetings.
  • Requires a reliable internet connection and a professional environment appropriate for virtual meetings and candidate conversations.
  • Regular use of standard office technology, including a computer, headset, phone, and video conferencing tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in virtual and in-person settings.
  • For team members working onsite or in a hybrid arrangement, standard office environments and equipment apply.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 for a qualified candidate with approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
