This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career recruiting professional who enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a measurable impact on the quality of our workforce.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at AWC your role will be pivotal in supporting our growing manufacturing, distribution, and technical service teams while helping us continuously improve how we attract, evaluate, and hire talent. This isn’t just about filling open positions. It’s about finding the right people, creating a great candidate experience, and helping build teams that succeed and grow with AWC!

How you’ll make an impact:
Own the Recruiting Experience
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned hourly, manufacturing, distribution, and operational positions, from sourcing through offer acceptance
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and the skills and behaviors that drive success
  • Proactively source and engage candidates through job boards, referrals, networking, community partnerships, and other creative recruiting channels
  • Conduct candidate screenings and coordinate interviews, assessments, offers, and pre-employment activities
  • Deliver a responsive, professional, and engaging candidate experience throughout the hiring process
Improve Quality of Hire
  • Help develop and implement structured interviews, consistent screening practices, and job-related candidate assessments
  • Work with hiring managers to establish clear selection criteria and make informed, consistent hiring decisions
  • Incorporate realistic job previews to help candidates understand job responsibilities, expectations, and work environments
  • Partner with HR and operational leaders to evaluate early turnover trends and identify opportunities to improve recruiting outcomes
  • Support initiatives focused on improving new-hire retention and reducing avoidable replacement hiring
Build Strong Talent Pipelines
  • Develop relationships with technical schools, community colleges, workforce development organizations, and other talent sources
  • Build candidate pipelines for recurring manufacturing, warehouse, and technical service positions
  • Participate in career fairs, recruiting events, and community outreach
  • Identify new and creative ways to attract talent in competitive labor markets
Use Data to Drive Improvement
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and candidate information in our applicant tracking system
  • Track recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate pipeline activity, hiring outcomes, and new-hire retention
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency, processes, and hiring manager partnerships
  • Collaborate with the HR team to continuously improve our talent acquisition practices
Skills you’ll need:
  • 1–3 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, or a related field preferred
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, skilled trades, or technical positions is a plus
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with candidates and hiring managers at all levels
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • A proactive, resourceful approach to finding and engaging talent
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, and other recruiting tools
  • An interest in using data and feedback to improve hiring decisions and outcomes
  • A genuine desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative HR team
What Will Make You Successful:

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Take ownership: You follow through, solve problems, and take pride in delivering results
  • Build trust: You communicate openly, develop strong relationships, and do what you say you'll do
  • Stay curious: You ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and continuously look for better ways to recruit
  • Care about quality: You understand that a successful hire isn't simply someone who accepts an offer—it's someone who succeeds in the role
  • Win together: You enjoy collaborating with others and believe the best outcomes come from shared accountability
The Rewards:
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Competitive Pay
  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Package
  • Employer Paid Life Insurance
  • Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay
