Job summary

Viasat is seeking an onsite Talent Acquisition Specialist in Carlsbad, CA to coordinate recruitment activities, support the People, Branding, and Culture function, and ensure accurate employee records.

You will manage interview schedules, provide timely updates, and uphold a high-standard candidate experience throughout the process. This role requires strong recruiting skills, data confidentiality, and customer service orientation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Talent Acquisition in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Must be able to work onsite daily at our Carlsbad, CA office.
  • Ability to apply recruiting skills in line with company policies and independently manage tasks.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (iCIMS preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and standard digital tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with data accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary process owner for the interview lifecycle across departments and time zones.
  • Provide a white-glove candidate experience, including onsite logistics for Carlsbad visits.
  • Maintain real-time accuracy in the ATS with candidate records and interview feedback.
  • Perform initial resume reviews and phone screenings to assess core competencies and cultural fit.
  • Assist in data gathering and basic analysis for compensation and benefits.
  • Create and assist in offer letters and related documentation.

What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an onsite Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is an opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Talent Acquisition Specialist provides essential administrative and operational support to the People, Branding, and Culture function-primarily coordination of recruitment initiatives. This role ensures smooth execution of core recruitment processes, maintains accurate employee data and documentation, and supports candidates and employees with a high standard of service.

The day-to-day
  • Act as the primary "process owner" for the interview lifecycle, managing complex calendar invites across multiple departments and time zones.
  • Serve as the face of the company for all applicants, providing timely updates, "day-of" logistics for onsite visits in Carlsbad, and ensuring a white-glove candidate experience.
  • Maintain real-time accuracy within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring candidate records, interview feedback, and hiring stages are updated with 100% data integrity.
  • Depending on experience, perform initial resume reviews and conduct phone screenings to qualify candidates based on core competencies and cultural alignment.
  • Support data gathering and basic analysis for compensation and benefits activities.
  • Assist in creating offer letters.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned or required.

  • Proven ability to handle sensitive compensation data and private candidate information with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality.
  • A strong customer-service orientation, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all candidates and internal employees.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with hiring managers and applicants.

Salary range

$21.63 - $34.13 / hourly.

For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $26.68 - $40.14/ hourly
