Job summary

Newton County Government is seeking an HR Specialist (Recruitment & Onboarding) to lead full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and training initiatives aligned with county goals. You will partner with hiring managers, manage ATS, and ensure compliant, engaging candidate experiences across the employee lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• 1+ year professional HR experience.
• PHR, SHRM-CP, or CEBS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt and nonexempt staff.
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs.
• Maintain ATS and job postings across sites.
• Coordinate background checks and pre-employment testing.
• Develop HR metrics and reports.
• Consult with Hiring Managers on job descriptions and postings.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with policies.
