Job summary

Peerstar, LLC in Clifton, NJ seeks a Recruiting/Onboarding Specialist to manage full-cycle recruiting and oversee pre-employment onboarding across multiple programs.

You will source candidates, coordinate interviews, manage onboarding activities, ensure background checks and credentials are complete, and partner with hiring managers to meet staffing needs in a mission-driven behavioral health organization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of onboarding, HR, recruiting coordination, talent acquisition, or healthcare administration experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple positions and priorities.
• Knowledge of employment documentation and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for positions including peer support specialists and program staff.
• Post and manage job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.
• Screen resumes, conduct candidate outreach, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
• Maintain accurate candidate records within the applicant tracking system.
• Coordinate all pre-employment onboarding activities.
• Ensure completion of background checks, clearances, and required credentials.
• Maintain accurate records in HRIS and onboarding systems.
• Support onboarding coordination to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and timelines.
• Assist with recruitment events, job fairs, and community outreach.
• Manage I-9 verification and employment documentation compliance.
• Schedule orientation and required training.
• Track onboarding progress and proactively follow up on outstanding items.
