Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is offering a Summer 2027 Internship for a Talent Acquisition & Development Intern. The role provides rotational exposure across TA and Development teams, with a hybrid work model near a Delaware office location.

The intern will support recruitment efforts, candidate engagement, learning-resource creation, and LMS admin tasks while gaining insight into the employee lifecycle. Applicants should be pursuing relevant degrees and seek hands-on HR experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in HR, business, communications, psychology, or related field.
• Interest in talent acquisition, recruiting, employee learning, instructional design, or organizational development.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, collaboration, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Familiarity with LMS, recruiting systems, or project-management practices is a plus.
• Prior customer service, administrative, campus leadership, office, training, or communications experience is preferred.
• Available to work full-time for the duration of the summer internship.

Responsibilities

Summer 2027 Internship

Talent Acquisition & Development Intern

Location: Hybrid within commutable distance to a DE office location

Your role in our success:

The Talent Acquisition & Development Intern will participate in a rotational experience across the Talent Acquisition and Talent Development teams. The intern will gain exposure to the employee lifecycle by supporting recruiting initiatives, candidate engagement, talent-pipeline development, the creation of employee learning resources, and the administration of our Learning Management System (LMS). This opportunity is designed for a college student interested in human resources, recruiting, communications, instructional design, or organizational development.

What you'll be working on:

Talent Acquisition Rotation

• Support recruitment activities, including job postings, application review, candidate communications, interview coordination, and pre-employment processes.
• Assist with internship, early-career, and apprenticeship recruiting initiatives.
• Research colleges, professional organizations, and community partners to identify potential talent sources.
• Contribute to projects focused on strengthening talent pipelines, recruitment processes, and the candidate experience.

Talent Development Rotation

• Support the creation and maintenance of learning resources and assist with training projects by tracking tasks, timelines, stakeholder feedback, and maintaining project documentation.
• Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including course setup, learner enrollments, training assignments and record maintenance.
• Support LMS data accuracy by performing audits, reviewing system reports, troubleshooting basic issues, and responding to learner inquiries.

Rotational Experience

• Collaborate with recruiters, hiring managers, HR partners, IT partners, Talent Development professionals, and other business stakeholders.
• Attend team meetings and gain exposure to broader Human Resources programs and operations.
• Complete a cross-functional project connecting talent attraction, candidate or employee experience, and learning.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Who you are:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, Marketing, Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, or related field.
• Interest in talent acquisition, recruiting, employee learning, instructional design, or related Human Resources discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, collaboration, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Familiarity with adult-learning principles, learning management systems, recruiting systems, or project-management practices is a plus.
• Prior customer service, administrative, campus leadership, office, training, or communications experience is preferred.
• Available to work full-time for the duration of the summer internship.
