PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you will play a meaningful role in our Talent Acquisition team, ensuring a seamless and flawless hiring process at CPKC. You will collaborate with Talent Acquisition Advisors to coordinate interviews, monitor candidate status, and execute pre-employment processes for both union and non-union hiring across Canada and the U.S. This position offers an opportunity to work in a high volume, fast-paced, and detail-focused environment, where your contributions will directly impact our ability to attract and retain top talent.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Schedule interviews, including phone, virtual, in-person, and bulk hiring events
  • Ensure the timely completion of pre-employment checks by providing daily updates and communicating directly with candidates to gather required documentation
  • Monitor candidate flow and maintain the applicant tracking system by ensuring all candidates are in the accurate status and all recruiting activities are documented accordingly
  • Communicate with Hiring Managers to provide updates and reschedule interviews as needed
  • Initiate pre-screening and online candidate assessments to determine suitability for various roles
  • Shortlist candidates when necessary to streamline the selection process
  • Support recruitment projects and process documentation to improve our hiring strategies

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of coordinating experience in a high-volume end to end recruiting environment, preferably in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition
  • Valid U.S. passport: allowing entry/re-entry into Canada without restrictions or ability to obtain a passport within 90 days of starting
  • We will provide training on all recruiting platforms, but candidates with experience in the following are preferred: SuccessFactors, SAP, VidCruiter, Hirevue, AON, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
