Job summary

W. Gardner, LLC in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Tailman on a Pipe Crew with at least one year of experience.

You will assist the Pipe Layer in installing water main and sewers and perform manual labor to assemble heavy pipe systems for storm drains on our heavy construction projects. This outdoor role requires good physical condition, ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and more than 100 lbs occasionally, a commitment to safety PPE, and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and varied

Qualifications

• One year of experience in pipe fitting or heavy construction.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Proof of work eligibility in the U.S.
• Ability to read plans and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist pipe layer in installing water main and sewers.
• Assemble heavy construction pipe systems.
• Check trench slopes and ladder placement.
• Hand-dig pipe bedding for elevation.
• Dig by hand to expose pipes/utilities.
• Inspect pipes for proper jointing.
• Verify installation using lasers and levels.
• Compact fill around pipe installation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
