Job summary

TRIGO is seeking a full time Technical Quality Engineer in Des Moines, IA to support customer assembly quality processes. This role is on first shift with occasional overtime and reports to the Site Manager.

Key responsibilities include responding to assembly line quality problems, containment and rework decisions, and documenting quality issues while collaborating with supplier quality groups to drive corrective actions and robust 8D processes.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and assembly drawings.
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques and the use of measuring tools, equipment, and gauges.
  • Understanding of industrial equipment assembly processes.
  • Proficiency with computer software programs.
  • Positive attitude and adaptability to changing workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to the customer’s assembly line quality problems.
  • Establish short term containment and/or request product rework for defective products.
  • Document and report assembly line and non-operational product quality issues.
  • Investigate and report findings of supplier-caused non-operational product quality issues on the assigned shift to the appropriate supplier, affected quality groups, supply management, and operations groups.
  • Investigate product quality issues in collaboration with customer quality group to determine the scope of the issue and provide data for supplier.
  • Report results of containment to applicable groups to assist with their decision making.
  • Assist in investigation of root cause, gather and analyze historical data, and assist as needed in the corrective action process to help drive a robust 8D process.
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

TRIGO is seeking a full time Technical Quality Engineer in Des Moines IA.

This is a 1st shift position (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Mon - Fri with occasional OT).

The pay for this position is $26.00 - $29.00 per hour depending on qualifications.

Overall Purpose

Assists the customer as the primary liaison between the customer's assembly processes and the customer's reactive supplier quality department. The Technical Quality Engineer (TQE) utilizes a combination of customer assembly specifications and their personal inspection background to maintain the customer's quality expectations accurately, efficiently, and in a professional manner.

Job Skills & Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability in reading and interpreting engineering and assembly drawings a must
  • Comprehension level knowledge and understanding of inspection techniques and the use of the appropriate measuring tools, equipment, and gages
  • Comprehension level knowledge of industrial equipment assembly processes
  • Operating level proficiency using computer software programs
  • Positive and adaptable to workflow changes
