Job summary

Apogee Research seeks Embedded Software Engineers to lead development of capabilities for DoD systems, focusing on tactical edge software in C and C++. The role involves hands-on design, debugging, and testing across varied architectures, with limited travel for exercises.

Arlington, VA, full-time in-person work and DoD Top Secret clearance or eligibility strongly preferred. Qualified candidates should demonstrate extensive low-level software experience, proficiency in C and C++, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building low-level software that runs reliably in various environments.
• High proficiency in C and C++.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of buffers, transports, schedulers, and similar low-level constructs.
• Knowledge of signal processing techniques (Nyquist, convolutions, Fourier transforms) is a plus.
• Understanding of ruggedized hardware and software-defined radios is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on design and development of low-level software for tactical systems across multiple architectures and POSIX OSs.
• Debugging cyber-physical systems with deep software and hardware insights.
• Supporting demonstrations and testing in lab and field events.
• Learning new technologies and developing new approaches as needed.
• Collaborating in cross-disciplinary teams to solve hard problems.
