Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation seeks a SPEAR Training Specialist to design and deliver specialized tactical and protective training for U.S. Department of State SPEAR teams.

You will develop scenario-based exercises, coordinate interagency training, and ensure mission readiness for embassies worldwide. The role requires advanced curriculum development, international security experience, and strong collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience developing and delivering tactical and law enforcement training.
• Strong curriculum development skills for embassy security operations.
• Extensive experience in international security training and interagency coordination.
• Active Secret clearance; Top Secret preferred; certifications in tactical instruction are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously update training curricula and lesson plans tailored to ATA-SPEAR teams.
• Deliver practical, hands-on tactical training emphasizing firearms proficiency, CQB, field maneuvering, and embassy security protocols.
• Conduct training needs assessments with RSOs and field trainers to tailor programs to the threat landscape.
• Design and execute realistic, scenario-based training exercises simulating embassy defense and crisis response.
• Lead interagency planning and execution of security exercises and major preparedness initiatives (e.g., JREs).
• Provide high-level briefings to COMs, RSOs, and post leadership on ATA-SPEAR capabilities and procedures.
• Oversee logistics of ATA-SPEAR training, including travel, equipment, venues, and contracted services.
• Monitor trainee performance using assessment tools; provide feedback and maintain materials.
• Support Training of Trainers initiatives to build in-country instructional capacity.
• Maintain lessons-learned processes from AARs and field feedback.
