Chesapeake Technologies International (CTI) is seeking a Tactical Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME) with advanced knowledge of Tactical Assault Kit Servers (TAK Server). This position supports ICEs TAK network. You will be part of a 5-person team across 3 shifts, providing remote technical assistance to ICEs TAK infrastructure and day-to-day maintenance of the TAK ecosystem. You will also support Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET), Tactical Data Link (TDL), Tactical Radio, TAK, and federating TAK networks with other federal agencies. The role requires SME support for remotely managing ICE TAK Servers and ensuring 24/7 persistent technical assistance for the customer.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain the ICE TAK Server cloud environments.
  • Assist with planning and executing network and server upgrades and expansions.
  • Collaborate with ICE engineering and technical staff to ensure seamless hardware, software, and firmware integration across network solutions.
  • Install, configure, operate, and maintain cloud infrastructure, software, and related capabilities.
  • Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets, etc.), and network hardware.
  • Configure and manage distributed authentication services.
  • Ensure hardware, operating systems, software, and procedures comply with government policies.
  • Assist the government in creating and maintaining network security policies, standards, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain backup operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Manage cloud-based services such as DNS, digital certificates, storage solutions (SAN/NAS), IP-based video, phone services, camera services, and networked workstations.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Support and manage other TAK-related services as needed.
Requirements

Location: This position is remote. Occasional travel may be required for client engagements, team collaboration, training, or field operations. Travel frequency varies based on project demands and priorities.

Necessary Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing TAK Server capabilities within enterprise networks.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience administering Linux servers in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
  • Required certifications: CompTIA Security+ (Sec+), Microsoft Windows or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator, AWS Cloud Administrator or equivalent.
  • Proven expertise in hardware administration, including installation, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Active U.S. government Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for eligibility for a security clearance.
