Job Type: Full Time

About the Opportunity

The Tactical Buyer is responsible for delivering efficient and compliant procurement support across Sandvik Mining. This role focuses on the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, supplier onboarding, and transactional activities, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and alignment with our broader Indirect Purchasing strategy. Working as part of the Operations Team, the Tactical Buyer helps maintain continuity of supply, supports supplier relationships and contract renewals, and contributes to commercial discussions while ensuring compliance with company policies and systems.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, basic commercial acumen, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Support supplier onboarding processes, including Trade Express screening, Proxora ABC checks, and document collection to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with procurement activities across Sandvik’s Procure-to-Pay platforms, including spend plan data, supplier setup, marketplace and Punch-out optimisation.
  • Maintain accurate supplier databases, support vendor master cleanup and deactivation, and manage employee details within the telecommunications portal.
  • Support supplier contract administration, including monitoring contract end dates, updating price files, and storing documentation in SRM.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier account holds or invoice discrepancies through root cause analysis and stakeholder follow-up.
  • Process and finalise free-text purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and commercial value in line with Sandvik’s Procurement Policy.
  • Participate in supplier meetings, providing insights to enhance supplier relationships and contribute to Sandvik’s strategic procurement initiatives.

About you

You hold a Certificate IV in Supply Chain Operations (Purchasing and Procurement) or a tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management. With 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations - ideally within indirect categories—you bring a strong understanding of procurement processes and systems such as Basware, Aurora, or similar. You have proven ability to manage purchase orders, supplier onboarding, and compliance checks with accuracy and attention to detail. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build positive working relationships with stakeholders, while your proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems supports your ability to prepare clear documentation, reports, and presentations.
