Quick Service Restaurant Shift Leaders play a key role in supporting the Restaurant General Manager in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant. The Shift Leader acts as the shift lead in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager or Assistant Manager, training, coaching, and driving team member performance. Responsibilities include providing friendly and professional service to guests, preparing products, and maintaining a tidy and well-presented restaurant. They support the Restaurant General Manager in developing an exceptional guest experience and a positive work environment that promotes engagement and embodies the Company values.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet all guests warmly to make them feel welcomed and appreciated.
  2. Operate the register efficiently and friendly to minimize guest wait time.
  3. Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the restaurant (inside and out), ensuring stock levels are appropriate, products are fresh, and the food service area is spotless.
  4. Assist with food service operations, including food preparation and safety, following company processes to ensure a consistent guest experience.
  5. In the absence of the Store Manager, complete reports, manage product ordering, and handle banking as needed.
  6. Lead by example in executing company values, programs, policies, and procedures.
  7. Coach team members to achieve service time, quality, and accuracy standards, supervising work fairly and consistently.
  8. Provide training, feedback, and coaching to team members, acting as Shift Lead when necessary.
  9. Prioritize safety for guests and team members.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Restaurant General Manager.
  11. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Working Relationships: Interact with Restaurant Clerks, Team Members, Shift Leaders, Assistant Managers, Restaurant General Managers, District Managers, Brand Managers, and various corporate personnel and vendors.

Minimum Education: N/A

Preferred Education: High School or GED

Minimum Experience: N/A

Preferred Experience: 1 year restaurant experience

Preferred Licenses/Certifications and Skills: ServSafe / Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory. Valid Driver’s license required in some jurisdictions, especially where a Food Handler’s Certification is mandated for food service employees.

Scheduling: This position can be part-time or full-time, involving various hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on location and business needs.

Hours & Conditions: Part-time (up to 29 hours), Full-time (30-40 hours)

Travel: Approximately 5%, including bank deposit deliveries.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, grasp, and work in cooler temperatures. Noise levels are usually moderate.

Other: Appropriate attire required, including slip-resistant footwear and brand-specific uniforms.
