  • Apply welding symbols, welding gases, straightening, tweaking, and heat-shrinkage techniques.
  • Ensure all work meets workmanship standards, quality policy, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in cleanroom and manufacturing environment protocols as required.
  • Maintain consistent attendance as an essential job function.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

UCT is looking for a talented Tacker II to join us in Austin!

The Tacker Welder II performs intermediate‑level layout, fit‑up, and tack welding to prepare metal components for final welding and assembly. This role interprets blueprints, aligns and positions parts, and applies knowledge of weld shrinkage, heat effects, and fabrication techniques to ensure precision and quality. The Tacker Welder 2 contributes to efficient production by following workmanship standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications while supporting continuous operational workflow.

  • Work may be subject to interruptions and requires adaptability.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
  • Near‑vision acuity of at least 20/40 (with or without correction).
  • Ability to distinguish colors accurately.
  • Ability to perform close visual inspection of small parts, defects, and blueprints.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, with intermittent standing and bending.
  • Ability to work in environments requiring personal protective equipment.
