Qualifications

  • Class A CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsement is required.
  • 2 years of experience as a Tack Truck Driver is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking an Tack Truck Driver to work at our Ace Saginaw Flint, MI location. The Tack Truck Driver operates tack truck with trailer for the purpose of transporting to and from locations and applying bond coat to pavement surfaces.

Responsibilities


The Operator will:



  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

  • Check and maintaining fluid levels

  • Maneuver vehicle to properly load, transport, and apply material

  • Observe loading operation to ensure correct material, proper weight and proper distribution of material

  • Get vehicle weighed and processing appropriate paperwork

  • Write up or communicate repair requests to mechanics

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor




Skills


The ideal candidate will have:



  • Class A CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsement (Or ability to obtain)

  • 2 Years of experience as a Tack Truck Driver

  • Valid driver's license

  • Knowledge of materials

  • Basic mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period of time

  • Work outside for an extended period of time

  • Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers, and other departments

  • Ability to read and write
