Job summary

TAD PGS, Inc. is seeking an experienced TAC Engineer for a 100% remote position with occasional travel to San Jose, CA. The role requires active TS/SCI clearance and strong expertise in enterprise networking, Arista EOS, Cisco, and F5 BIG-IP platforms.

Responsibilities include Tier 2/3 support, incident resolution, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure high availability and secure delivery of applications and services.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or TAC support roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Arista EOS switching platforms.
  • Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM/DNS, or ASM preferred).
  • TCP/IP networking; BGP/OSPF and dynamic routing.
  • VLANs, VXLAN, and network segmentation.
  • High availability and load balancing architectures.
  • Troubleshooting Layer 2–Layer 7 networking issues.
  • Familiarity with packet capture tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump.
  • Experience with Linux-based systems and CLI troubleshooting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Active U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across routing, switching, load balancing, and security platforms.
  • Diagnose incidents with Arista EOS, Cisco, and F5 BIG-IP systems.
  • Analyze captures, logs, and telemetry to identify root causes.
  • Work directly with customers to resolve incidents in production environments.
  • Manage cases through full lifecycle with documentation and post-incident analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Provide configuration guidance and best practices for network solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and maintenance windows.
  • Maintain detailed documentation in ticketing/knowledge systems.

Job description

We have an outstanding Contract position for a TAC Engineer.This position is 100% remote with travel toSan Jose, CA.

Pay Rate: 75-85hr

US Citizenship is required. Candidate must possess an Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 technical support for enterprise network and application delivery infrastructure.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across routing, switching, load balancing, and network security platforms.

  • Diagnose and resolve incidents involving Arista EOS, Cisco networking platforms, and F5 BIG-IP systems.

  • Analyze packet captures, logs, and telemetry data to identify root causes of network issues.

  • Work directly with customers to resolve incidents in production and mission-critical environments.

  • Manage cases through the full lifecycle, including documentation, resolution, and post-incident analysis.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to escalated and resolve complex issues.

  • Provide configuration guidance and best practices for network and application delivery solutions.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and support maintenance windows when required.

  • Maintain detailed documentation in ticketing and knowledge management systems.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or TAC support roles.

  • Hands-on experience with: Arista EOS switching platforms

  • Cisco routing and switching technologies

  • F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM/DNS, or ASM preferred)

  • TCP/IP networking

  • BGP, OSPF, and other dynamic routing protocols

  • VLANs, VXLAN, and network segmentation

  • High availability and load balancing architectures

  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Experience troubleshooting Layer 2-Layer 7 networking issues.

  • Familiarity with packet capture tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump.

  • Experience with Linux-based systems and CLI troubleshooting.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced support environment with multiple priorities.

  • Active U.S. security clearance required, or the ability to obtain and maintain one (Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) with willingness to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI) Polygraph. )

Desired Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications such as: Cisco CCNP or CCIE.

  • Arista ACE.

  • F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) or F5-CTS.

  • Experience with automation or scripting (Python, Ansible, or REST APIs).

  • Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Experience with network monitoring and observability tools.
