Job summary

Excelacom is seeking a Tableau Analyst in Greenwood Village, CO to build and optimize dashboards and data stories. You will work with stakeholders to frame questions, translate insights for executives, and drive actionable recommendations using Tableau Desktop/Server and SQL.

You will contribute to client engagements, lead analytical workstreams, and improve reporting processes while collaborating with engineering, product, and leadership teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in analytics, business, CS, IS, statistics, journalism, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or analytics.
• Strong hands-on Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud experience with dashboards and calculations.
• Proficiency in SQL and analyzing data from relational or cloud data platforms.
• Ability to move beyond requests, ask questions, and uncover the business story.
• Strong data visualization and storytelling, with executive-ready communication.
• Experience gathering requirements and balancing priorities in client-facing work.

As a Consultant, you will contribute to client engagements by delivering insights, building effective data products, and leading analytical workstreams. You will bring strong analytical thinking, sound business judgment, and a proactive mindset to solve client problems and drive transformation.

Role and Responsibilities:

You may work on various projects throughout your career with Excelacom. The roles and responsibilities noted below pertain to the specific role listed above.

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, frame analytical questions, and define meaningful success measures.




• Investigate data with a journalistic mindset to identify trends, anomalies, root causes, and insights that may not be captured in the initial request.




• Develop and maintain intuitive, high-performing Tableau dashboards and visualizations that communicate a clear business story.




• Use SQL and other analytical tools to extract, combine, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources.




• Translate complex analysis into concise findings, recommendations, and executive-ready presentations for technical and nontechnical audiences.




• Evaluate data quality, reconcile conflicting information, and clearly communicate assumptions, limitations, and confidence in findings.




• Define and document business metrics, dashboard requirements, data sources, calculations, and reporting logic.




• Work collaboratively with data engineering, product, operations, and leadership teams to turn insights into measurable action.




• Improve existing reporting and analytics processes through automation, standardization, and thoughtful self-service capabilities.




• Contribute to Excelacom's Center of Excellence, help productize client work, and occasionally support proposals and other business development efforts.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, reporting, or a related analytics role.




• Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, including dashboard design, calculated fields, parameters, filters, and performance optimization.




• Proficiency in SQL and experience analyzing data from relational databases or cloud data platforms.




• Demonstrated ability to move beyond stated reporting requirements, ask probing questions, develop hypotheses, and uncover the business story within the data.




• Strong data visualization and storytelling skills, with the ability to select the right visual and explain insights clearly to decision-makers.




• Experience gathering requirements, working directly with stakeholders, and balancing multiple priorities in a client-facing or consulting environment.




• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with careful attention to detail and analytical accuracy.




• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.




• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the telecommunications, media, or cable industries.




• Experience with Tableau Prep, Alteryx, Python, R, or another data preparation or analytical tool.




• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.




• Experience defining KPIs, developing executive reporting, or supporting operational and product analytics.




• Tableau certification or relevant analytics certification.

Compensation and Benefits:

For regular full-time employees, the estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
