Job summary

Teknims in Dallas, TX seeks a Tableau Administrator to design, install and maintain our Tableau Server environment. You’ll work on on-prem deployments, configure authentication (AD), manage sites and users, and automate maintenance with TABADMIN and Python.

Responsibilities

• Architect, configure and maintain Tableau Server software layer
• Plan on-premises enterprise server deployments
• Install and configure Tableau Server
• Monitor, maintain and scale server deployments to meet requirements
• Configure authentication including Active Directory
• Perform backups, updates and restores
• Monitor server performance and usage
• Automate monitoring and maintenance tasks using TABADMIN, TABCMD and Python
• Investigate and resolve complex server issues
• Manage sites, users, groups and content
• Create site users and groups; set content permissions
• Create PostgreSQL reports via Tableau Desktop for admin views
• Monitor site metrics like usage and scheduled tasks
• Troubleshoot user issues within a site

Qualifications

• Good understanding of tableau server license mechanism
• Experience with Tableau backup and restore
• Proven advanced skill and experience with Tableau development and administration with version 2020+
• Experience with utilizing scripting languages to leverage Tableau's APIs (Javascript API, Data Extract API, REST API)
• Proficient with querying languages, such as ANSI-SQL, T-SQL
• Candidates must have 5+ years of Business Intelligence experience
• Considerable BI development experience / background
• Problem solving / troubleshooting experience /skills to assist Production Support in issue resolution
• Proven ability to independently champion business intelligence principles with business owners, application owners, data analysts and DBAs
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines and documenting progress towards those deadlines
• Excellent communication skills (must be able to interface with both technical and business leaders in the organization)
• Comprehensive understanding of the Agile Development process
• Ability to provide data visualization solutions
