Job summary

Schaefer's Electrical Enclosures is seeking a reliable table packager to support production by accurately packaging completed jobs and ensuring correct product identification and quantities. The role contributes to waste reduction and efficient flow by following packaging procedures and maintaining organization in the packing area.

The ideal candidate will perform packaging tasks in a timely manner, obtain forklift certification, and uphold safety standards while supporting ongoing process

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Detail-oriented and thorough; able to perform basic repairs and operate tools.
• Ability to complete packaging duties and related paperwork accurately.
• Prolonged standing and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate completion of packaging tasks in the assembly area, creating pull from assembly to enable efficiency and throughput.
• Support process improvements to increase productivity, efficiency and accuracy of packaging activities.
• Retrieval of packaging materials for point of use by packaging team.
• Maintain packaging area in a clean and orderly fashion and perform weekly review of area with team leader to ensure proper 5S organization and identification of safety hazards.
• Flex to meet business needs and perform other assigned duties as directed by team leader or department manager.

The table packager has responsibility for supporting production by ensuring accurate and timely packaging of completed jobs. The role supports stewardship of company resources by maintaining accurate product identification and quantities.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate completion of packaging related tasks in the assembly area. Creating pull from assembly to enable efficiency and throughput.
• Participate in process improvement efforts to increase productivity, efficiency and accuracy of packaging related activities
• Retrieval of packaging materials (corrugate, foam, etc.) for point of use by packaging team
• Maintain packaging area in a clean and orderly fashion and perform weekly review of area with team leader to ensure proper 5S organization and identification of safety hazards
• Flex to meet business needs and perform other assigned duties as directed by team leader or department manager

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to complete packaging duties and associated Pivot transactions
• Must be able to obtain forklift certification and operate equipment safely and effectively
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
• Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly.
• Ability to complete required paperwork accurately.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
