Triage Clinician - Milford - 1st shift

We have a great opportunity to join our mobile crisis intervention team in Milford. You will be able to work in a supportive small team atmosphere while also working as part of a larger organization that is a leader within the mental health care industry. The Triage Clinician works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team devoted to crisis intervention and stabilization. The Triage Clinician assists MCI clinicians by triaging cases to determine the most appropriate location for an intervention to occur, with priority for community-based, non-hospital locations. The master’s level Triage Clinician is an integral part of Community Behavioral Health Center’s Mobile Crisis Intervention program and collaborates with other MCI clinicians to provide crisis intervention services 7 days per week, 24 hours per day either on-site or mobile to any individual experiencing a mental health and/or substance abuse problem.

Orientation to Mobile Crisis Intervention is provided, with particular attention to diagnosis, safety assessment and awareness of resources dependent on level of care.

Clinical supervision is provided including licensure track hours for eligible employee. Riverside also offers an outstanding staff training program offering CEUs

The triage clinician will also be responsible for:

  • Serves as the primary responder to all incoming calls to MCI, and using clinical and administrative judgment appropriately triages the call
  • Arranges for assessments to occur on site or in the community and organizes for transportation as needed
  • Secures placements in detox units, inpatient units and diversionary levels of care and coordinates the transfer of those served to these facilities
  • Assessing mental health and substance use presentations in order to more appropriately triage cases with a great deal of independence.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast paced, ever changing office environment while collaborating and liaising with a variety of stakeholders and providers
  • Assists in providing telephonic support to individuals in crisis while also assessing the need for a clinical intervention.

Schedule : Part Time, 24 hours

  • 1st Shift, Friday through Sunday

Pay Rate:

  • Unlicensed Clinician - $35.69/hr
  • Independent Licensure - $38.25/hr
  • Stacking differentials available too! Additional hourly rate of $1 for 2nd shift - evenings, $2 for 3rd shift - overnights, and $1 for weekend shifts.

Required Skills

Required Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other related human service field
  • Two years’ experience in the field of mental health preferred (including any internship experience)
  • For providing mobile crisis intervention services to children/youth under 21, at least one year of experience working with children, adolescents and families is preferred (including any internship experience).
  • Knowledge of and experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders preferred
