Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Extensive construction experience is required.
• Utility construction experience is preferred.
• Journeyman line experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of transmission, distribution, and substation construction practices is required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and standards.
• Familiarity with NESC/utility standards is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile field reporting tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects.
• Monitor contractor work for compliance with drawings and standards.
• Conduct field audits to verify quality and progress.
• Identify deficiencies and safety concerns.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and project documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and provide field updates.
• Collect and manage field data using tablets, GPS, drones, and other tools.
• Promote safe work practices and report safety concerns.
• Travel up to 50% and support multiple projects.
