Job summary

Zipline is seeking a System Validation Intern to help test and validate its complete system of systems, including Zipline’s Zip, Droid, and Dock. You will build and refine automated testing pipelines and ensure software quality before flight tests, collaborating with a diverse engineering team in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the second year of undergraduate studies; masters and PhD students eligible.
• Experience writing Python tests using Pytest or Unittest.
• Experience with Rust or Python scripts to automate tasks or tests.
• Familiarity with test plans or validation plans for software or hardware systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests and flight tests to validate Zipline systems.
• Build and refine automated testing pipelines for software before flight deployment.
• Design and improve tools that stress-test the system in off-nominal scenarios.
• Analyze hardware and software issues uncovered during testing; contribute to system improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers to design and execute system-level validation plans.
• Develop scripts and tools to support automated testing workflows.
• Learn to ensure reliability and quality in safety-critical systems.
