Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product, Sohu, supports transformers and offers significantly higher throughput and lower latency than traditional GPUs. With Etched ASICs, products like real-time video generation models and deep, parallel reasoning agents become possible.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Validation Engineer to oversee the full platform server product, ensuring seamless integration, functionality, and performance. If you are passionate about AI, hardware, and systems architecture, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full Platform Ownership
    • Own validation of the entire platform server product, including hardware, firmware, and software integration.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for server functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Sohu Integration
    • Lead integration of Sohu platform into the server, supporting side-band communication, telemetry, and BMC.
    • Ensure system telemetry and communication channels work efficiently.
  • Debugging and Root Cause Analysis
    • Identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues, performing root cause analysis at the component level.
    • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to resolve complex issues.
  • System-Level Expertise
    • Ensure proper functioning of server subsystems: power, thermal, storage, networking, PCIe.
    • Evaluate and optimize system performance under various workloads.
    • Provide guidance on server architecture and component interactions.
  • Command Line and Linux Skills
    • Use Linux command line for validation, debugging, and monitoring.
    • Develop automated test scripts and diagnostic tools, including Python scripts.
    • Experience with IPMI protocol and BMC calls.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with design, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues early.
    • Contribute feedback for product design and manufacturing improvements.

You may be a good fit if you have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in systems validation, hardware integration, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of server architecture and subsystems.
  • Experience with side-band protocols, telemetry, and BMC.
  • Proficiency with Linux command line and debugging tools.
  • Problem-solving skills to debug at the component level.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and schematics.
  • Experience in test plan development and automation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
