Job summary

Leidos in Vista, CA is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to join our cross-functional engineering team. You will design, plan, and execute manual and automated integration tests across edge, enterprise, and cloud environments to qualify and sustain our security detection products at the factory and in the field.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, training, field service, and customers to ensure system readiness and reliability.

Qualifications

• BS with 8+ years or MS with 6+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).
• Experience with Linux-based systems.
• Experience troubleshooting integrated software/hardware systems.
• Experience developing test procedures and validating system requirements.
• Familiarity with development processes and tools (Azure DevOps, Jira).
• Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Leidos' Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is seeking a Systems Test Engineer in Vista, CA to join our cross‑functional engineering team using cutting‑edge technology to develop truly novel solutions that make travel and trade safer, healthier, and more efficient on a global level. As a member of the Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) team, you will be joining a diverse and dedicated group who are excited about producing industry‑leading screening technology.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Training, Field Service, and customers across the development lifecycle to qualify and sustain Leidos security detection products at the factory and in the field. This role requires experience with integrated systems, including software and hardware testing, and proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.

Key responsibilities include expanding automated testing, executing automation strategies, measuring effectiveness via KPIs, and integrating new tools and technologies. Formal test reporting and documentation are required.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with containerized applications and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Familiarity with at least one relational database management system (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
• Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with networks and distributed software environments.
• Familiarity working with Windows‑based operating systems/applications.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.

Pay Range
