Responsibilities




We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Storage Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's storage systems, ensuring data availability, security, and performance. The Storage Administrator will work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless data storage solutions and provide support for enterprise storage platforms.

    Support the provisioning of storage services across all virtual and physical environments including administration, management support, backup, DR, and COOP.
  • Monitor, allocate, and recommend system storage usage in accordance with appropriate directives.
  • Document all instances of storage within the enterprise and storage services capabilities to include size, speed, accessibility, and scalability.
  • Apply, maintain, and troubleshoot storage-related issues.
  • Provide data protection and management solutions, scalable from workgroup to enterprise, and ensure COOP and efficient use of storage across the enterprise. This includes both the management of storage as well as backup-up and recovery functions.
  • Operate server and storage appliances.
  • Analyze and resolve common problems related to servers and storage.
  • Install patches and perform system updates.
  • Manage server and storage processing strategies.
  • Recover data.
  • Install and configure server and storage devices.





Qualifications




  • TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance is required.
  • BA/BS and 5+ years of experience; Masters and 3+ years of experience; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proven experience as a Storage Administrator or in a similar role managing enterprise storage systems.
  • Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, cloud storage, and backup solutions.
  • Familiarity with storage management tools (e.g., EMC, NetApp, Dell, IBM, Hitachi, etc.).
  • Experience with storage protocols (e.g., iSCSI, FC, NFS, SMB) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Solid understanding of data backup, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies.
  • Experience with cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of storage security practices, including encryption and access controls.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex storage-related issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Storage certification (e.g., EMC, NetApp, or similar) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to improve efficiency and streamline storage management tasks.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices for service management and operations.

Target Salary Range




$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
