Most important, we are thankful for our employees and are proud to have one of the most exciting project portfolios in the business.System Specialist I - Building IntelligenceThe Controls Specialist will be an integral part of our service delivery team for all building automation system projects as well as retro commissioning, on-going commissioning and preventive maintenance offerings.Required Skills- Performs assigned new construction work, service work, and commissioning. Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Responds to basic warranty and service calls
- Loads system-level controller software.
- Interpret engineering drawings to create bill of material.
- Understands wiring diagrams and control system wiring.
- Ability to create, trouble shoot and tune basic controller programming for terminal devices.
- Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, actuators, etc) and completes all required commissioning documentation.
- Takes direction from and keeps Field Operations Manager informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Documents changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
- Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training.
- High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Will participate in 3 year BAS specialist apprenticeship program consisting of mostly field training and 2-3 hours a week of cloud based skills training

- Responsible for point-to-point system checkouts
- Assist with system database and graphics generation

Required Experience
- Minimum two-year technical degree in electronics, computers, HVAC or related field.
- Excellent understanding of HVAC and building automation systems preferred.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Able to use hand and power tools (i.e. drills, saws, etc.).
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication and listening skills.
