Job summary

Automation Technical Resources LLC in Odessa, TX seeks a full-time DCS/DeltaV specialist to support the project execution lifecycle. You will configure and troubleshoot DCS hardware, support networked PCs, and participate in startup and commissioning at customer sites.

The role requires 2+ years of hands-on DCS/PLC experience, strong electrical and networking knowledge, and willingness to travel up to 40–50% for short visits or extended assignments during startups.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on DCS and/or PLC systems experience.
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC power, grounding, electrical systems, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with industrial networking and communications.
  • Working knowledge of Windows PCs, servers, and operating systems.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, electrical one-lines, and engineering documentation.
  • DeltaV experience or training is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a hands-on approach to solving system problems.

Responsibilities

  • Review/approve system BOM and enclosure design requirements.
  • Configure, initialize, and troubleshoot DCS system hardware.
  • Set up and support PCs, servers, networking equipment, and system communications.
  • Support system integration and make configuration changes during implementation and startup.
  • Troubleshoot power, grounding, electrical, networking, and communications issues.
  • Plan and support system cutovers, commissioning, loop checks, and startups.
  • Participate in factory and site acceptance testing.
  • Provide ongoing technical and lifecycle support for installed systems.
  • Works effectively either independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and oral communications.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites via airplane or car trips for short visits and/or extended stays.

Job description

If you like working hands-on with DCS Control Systems, then consider this full-time position in Odessa, TX. In this role, you’ll be a core member of the Project Execution Team and throughout the Systems lifecycle Support working with the DeltaV System. This includes supporting the DeltaV hardware, electrical, communications, PCs/Networking, configuration changes, startup and commissioning.
