Halian | Managed Services, Recruitment Agency & Contract Staffing is seeking a Systems Security Specialist for a hands-on, on-site role in Tallahassee, FL. You will strengthen security operations, tune detections, and drive incident response across a large enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will manage endpoint and email security platforms, lead threat hunting, and automate security workflows using PowerShell and related tools. On-site work only; remote options are not available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise IT and cybersecurity experience.
• 4+ years hands-on with Palo Alto Cortex for Endpoint.
• 3+ years admin across Proofpoint, Tessian, Abnormal Security.
• 3+ years of Exchange Online administration experience.
• 3+ years of security incident response experience.
• 2+ years of threat hunting in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize security platforms across enterprise IT.
• Support Microsoft Exchange / Exchange Online security operations.
• Lead end-to-end incident response activities including triage, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting using telemetry from endpoints, email, identity, cloud, and network.
• Document operational, incident, and security platform activities.
• Develop and tune security policies, rules, thresholds, and automation workflows.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Systems Security Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise IT environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on cybersecurity professional with deep expertise across endpoint security, email security, identity management, incident response, and threat hunting.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening security operations, improving detection capabilities, responding to security incidents, and administering advanced security platforms within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations & Platform Administration

• Administer, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and optimize:
• Palo Alto Cortex for Endpoint
• Proofpoint
• Tessian
• Abnormal Security
• Support Microsoft Exchange / Exchange Online security operations, including:
• Mail flow management
• Connectors
• Anti-spam and anti-phishing controls
• Quarantine management
• Security troubleshooting
• Perform end-to-end incident response activities including:
• Triage
• Containment
• Eradication
• Recovery
• Root cause analysis
• Documentation
• Conduct proactive threat-hunting activities using endpoint, email, identity, cloud, and network telemetry.
• Improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives through continuous tuning and analysis.

Identity & Security Engineering

• Investigate and secure Microsoft Entra ID environments, including:
• Conditional Access
• Identity Protection
• Develop and tune security policies, detection rules, thresholds, exclusions, indicators, and response automation workflows.
• Utilize PowerShell or similar scripting tools to support security operations and automation.

Documentation & Compliance

• Produce operational, incident, and security platform documentation.
• Maintain accurate records using ticketing, change management, and reporting tools.
• Support security governance and operational readiness activities.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 7+ years of enterprise IT and cybersecurity experience.
• 4+ years of recent hands-on experience with:
• Palo Alto Cortex for Endpoint
• 3+ years of hands-on administration experience across:
• Proofpoint
• Tessian
• Abnormal Security
• 3+ years of Microsoft Exchange / Exchange Online administration experience.
• 3+ years of security incident response experience.
• 2+ years of threat-hunting experience within enterprise environments.

Technical Expertise

• Endpoint security administration and engineering.
• Email security platform management.
• Detection engineering and security tuning.
• Security operations and incident management.
• Threat hunting methodologies and tooling.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Technical and operational documentation.

Ideal Candidate

You are a senior cybersecurity professional who thrives in a fast-paced enterprise environment and can work independently with minimal supervision. You have a proven track record of securing complex infrastructures, responding to security incidents, improving security controls, and leveraging multiple security platforms to protect critical business operations.

Experience in large, highly distributed enterprise environments and public sector organizations is highly desirable.
