RTX is seeking a Cyber Engineer II in Aurora, CO to support the Product Cybersecurity Organization. You will work in the SSE team to implement secure software and hardware protection, leveraging AT, RMF, STIGs, and SCRM to safeguard national security interests.

Role requires active TS/SCI clearance, STEM background, and on-site presence in Aurora. Expect DoD-focused responsibilities and opportunities to advance cybersecurity expertise within a leading defense contractor.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI
  • U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • DoD 8140.03 compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of RMF and STIG guidance as described in NIST SP 800-37 and DoD instructions
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, STIG Viewer, SCAP tools)

Responsabilités

  • Work with cybersecurity architecture to support program protection across DoD systems.
  • Assist in RMF ATOs and control validation testing.
  • Maintain up-to-date STIGs and migrate templates to latest versions.
  • Coordinate STIG template completion with SMEs for network, database, and OS components.
  • Perform routine and ad-hoc scans using ACAS and related tools.
  • Develop cybersecurity requirements, design artifacts, and policies.
  • Travel CONUS/OCONUS up to 25%.

We are seeking a Cyber Engineer II to function as a key contributor for the Product Cybersecurity Organization (PCO) team. As a member of the High Band Mission Application Software (HBMAS) Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team, you will develop solutions to secure the Warfighter’s technical advantage. The SSE team creates comprehensive security solutions by leveraging multiple disciplines, including Anti-Tamper (AT), Software and Hardware Assurance, Cryptography, and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), to implement robust program protection across diverse systems. This role will be worked onsite in Aurora, CO and requires an active TS/SCI clearance. Relocation assistance is not available.

What You Will Do:
  • Work with cybersecurity architecture
  • Assist in the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for DoD Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
  • Maintain the latest versions of all applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) by downloading updates from the DoD Cyber Exchange website and migrating existing checklists to the newest templates
  • Coordinate with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to complete the STIG templates, such as those for network switches, database, operating systems, etc.
  • Perform routine and ad-hoc scans using the ACAS tool
  • Support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.
  • CONUS/OCONUS travel (up to 25%)

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and experience implementing DoD and Federal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Processes and cybersecurity controls and developing and maintaining associated A&A documentation
  • Experience with utilizing vulnerability scanning tools to include Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker/Tools
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Familiarity with Linux Commands
  • Familiarity with Containerization (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)
  • Awareness of Program Protection Plans (PPP), DoDI 5000.02, and DoDI 5200.39
  • Understanding of IT, network, and system security administration, including security configuration and account management best practices for Windows, UNIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco Systems.
  • Familiarity with information security toolsets, including anti-virus, vulnerability assessment, HIDS/NIDS, host-based and endpoint security, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and centralized auditing resources
  • Written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to work independently

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
